What is doubling and tripling used tires?
Doubling and tripling used tires is an essential step to maximize export efficiency and container logistics. By inserting 2 to 3 tires into an outer casing tire, you create bundles of 3 to 4 tires, reducing empty space and increasing the number of tires per container by up to +150%, ensuring optimized transport to Africa and Asia.
As illustrated in the image above, doubling and tripling used tires reduces empty internal space, thereby optimizing container loading and export logistics.

Why can doubling and tripling tires increase your exports and reduce your costs?
Discover how doubling and tripling used tires increases the number of tires exported while reducing your logistics costs.
Container optimization for export
As mentioned earlier, you can increase the number of tires by up to +150% by tripling them. This increase allows you to go from 1,200 tires to over 3,000 tires in a 40-foot container.

Furthermore, the space occupied in a 40-foot container filled with non-tripled tires is approximately 62%. By doubling and tripling your tires, this increases to around 78%, representing a 16% improvement in space utilization.

Reduction of logistics costs
According to these figures, a tripled container is equivalent to three containers of non-tripled tires. Therefore, doubling and tripling your tires allows you to achieve significant savings on your logistics costs.
Which countries should you export your used tires to?
Used tires are in demand in many countries due to their lower cost compared to new tires. Discover the most profitable export markets and maximize your revenue.
African countries
Africa is the continent to which the largest volume of used tires is exported. Developing countries benefit greatly from this, offering an opportunity for tire holders looking to sell their unused used tires. The most profitable markets are: Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo-Brazzaville, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea-Conakry, Mali, Niger, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal, and Togo.

Asian countries
Exports to certain Asian countries also represent an opportunity. These developing countries regularly use used tires due to their lower cost compared to new tires. The most suitable markets for exporting used tires to Asia are: India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Pakistan.

Latin American countries
Exports to certain Latin American countries represent a real opportunity. In many markets in the region, used tires are widely used due to their lower cost compared to new tires. This demand is supported by a large vehicle fleet as well as a constant need for cost-effective solutions for vehicle maintenance. The most suitable markets for exporting used tires in Latin America are: Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, and Bolivia.
There is also strong demand in Caribbean countries, particularly on the islands, such as: the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, and Cuba.

What solutions are available to double and triple tires?
There are several methods for doubling and tripling used tires. The two most commonly used are: doing it manually, often with an external group of workers, or mechanically, using a machine.
Manual method
The manual method is the traditional technique. It involves opening the tires to insert another one inside, usually performed by a group of people using unsuitable tools. This work is tiring, requires frequent breaks, and does not always ensure deadlines are met. We do not recommend this method in order to avoid logistical issues and any damage to the tires.
Mechanical method
The mechanical method uses machines to perform the operation. The operator simply places and removes the tires from the machine, while the tripling process is carried out automatically using hydraulic cylinders. Suitable tools may also be included to handle the tires without damaging them. This is the method we recommend, as it helps meet deadlines and achieve savings on logistics.
How to use our doubling and tripling machines to maximize your containers
Now discover how to use our solutions to triple your tires.
Now discover how to use our solutions to triple your tires.
Our tire doubling and tripling machine combines performance, mobility, and ease of use. Compact and practical, it can be easily moved around your site. It allows up to 4 tires to be nested together depending on their size, thereby reducing storage or export volume and optimizing your logistics. Ideal for professionals and independent operators, it provides autonomy and logistical efficiency, reduces the volume of tires to be stored or exported, while preserving their integrity. Reliable and built to last, this French-made machine ensures efficiency and safety in your sorting, storage, and shipping operations.
This machine is available in three versions. Two of them use a pneumatic system, while one uses a hydraulic system:
Standard tire tripling machine
Entry-level model in pneumatic version. It allows you to create batches of approximately 2 to 3 tires, exclusively passenger car (PC) tires. Its power is slightly reduced and it does not include tripling tools.

PRO tire tripling machine
Pneumatic model, ideal if you regularly export tires and want to invest in a reliable and durable machine. It allows you to create batches of approximately 3 to 4 tires (PC, SUV, light commercial vehicles, 4x4), enabling greater optimization. Its power is higher than the standard model. This version includes tripling tools.

Hydraulic tire tripling machine
This is the hydraulic model, which is more powerful and features an integrated feeding system within the machine. It allows you to form batches of approximately 4 tires on average (PC, SUV, light commercial vehicles, 4x4). Tripling tools are included with the machine.

How to use them?
Follow the steps below to perform a tire tripling operation using our mobile tire tripling machines (all three machines operate the same way):

1 - Place the tire around the two bars.

2 - Compress the tire using the bar.

3 - Place the outer casing tire (envelope tire) around it.

4 - Release the tire (decompress it).

5 - Repeat the process until the desired batch is reached.
You can also watch our demonstration video to follow the steps and successfully complete the operation.
Presentation of the automatic tire tripling machine
Our automatic tire tripling machine, the most powerful in our catalog, is designed for professionals in used tire export. It allows you to triple up to 6 tires nested inside one another depending on their size, delivering significant time and space savings. Robust, fast, and autonomous, it optimizes every load, enabling you to triple container capacity and maximize exports while reducing logistics costs. The AutoPack is the ideal solution to boost productivity and profitability.

How to use it?
Follow the steps below to perform a tire tripling operation using our automatic tire tripling machine:

1 - Place the outer casing tire in the lower part of the machine.

2 - Raise the platform.

3 - Open the hook to stretch the tire.

4 - Lower the platform (the tire should remain slightly suspended).

5 - Place the tire to be inserted in the upper part of the machine.

6 - Compress the tire.

7 - Push the upper tire into the lower tire.

8 - Open the upper arms and raise the platform.

9 - Lower the platform.

10 - Repeat the process until the desired batch size is reached.

Conclusion: optimizing used tires for export
Doubling and tripling used tires represent a strategic opportunity to maximize your exports while reducing logistics costs. By nesting multiple tires inside one another, you can increase capacity from around 1,200 tires to more than 3,000 in a 40-foot container, thereby optimizing space and the profitability of each shipment.
Whether you choose the manual method or the use of a mobile or automatic machine, the objective remains the same: saving time, preserving tire integrity, and securing logistics. Rhino machines simplify this process while ensuring efficiency, safety, and durability, whether for individuals, small businesses, or professionals who export regularly.
Finally, by targeting the most promising markets, particularly in Africa and Asia, and using our tripling solutions, you turn your used tires into an optimized exportable product, generating tangible gains in volume, costs, and productivity.
